Onego Bio Update: Series B Lead Secured, Milestones Achieved

Onego Bio has entered a new phase of growth.

Revenue is growing and our U.S. customer base for Bioalbumen® continues to expand. We are deepening collaborations with multinational food manufacturers and partnering with emerging CPG brands. Our recent partnership with Zen Waffles, in the high-protein category, is one example, and more announcements and product launches will follow in the coming months.

On the manufacturing side, we have reached a 60 g/L fermentation titer in lab scale trials, a critical technology milestone which directly translates to positive gross margins at scale.

We have also signed a term sheet with a new VC fund to lead our €35 million Series B. With 70% committed, we are now seeking additional co-investors to complete the round.

This newsletter provides more detail on our progress, our upcoming technology webinar and the opportunity to participate in our Series B.

Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards,

Series B Update: Lead Secured

We have signed a term sheet with a new VC fund to lead our €35 million Series B. 70% of the round is committed from a combination of a new lead investor, EIC, and current investor follow-on.

Commercial Sales and Partnerships ‍

Bioalbumen® is reaching more customers and entering new food products in the U.S. Our broader commercial pipeline continues to expand:

  • 400+ commercial leads, including 34 multinational accounts.

  • 100+ customers testing and piloting Bioalbumen®.

  • Growing revenue and an expanding customer base of U.S. food brands.

  • Ongoing development and collaborations with major multinational food manufacturers.

In 2027 increased production will lead to significant growth in commercial sales, additional product launches and new partnerships across food categories.

Bioalbumen® shines in protein fortification and functionality in our partnership with Zen Waffles, a growing U.S. high-protein waffle brand, announced in September. Egg is a primary ingredient in waffles, and this partnership demonstrates how Bioalbumen® can replace it while maintaining the taste, nutrition and functionality manufacturers need.

Also coming soon: national product launch and commercial partnership with a fast-growing U.S. macaron producer, spotlighting Bioalbumen® in one of the most technically demanding egg white applications.

Manufacturing Progress and Scale-Up

We recently achieved a fermentation titer of 60 g/L. This is a key measure of the productivity and capability of our technology platform and directly enables improved costs to produce Bioalbumen® at scale.

Demand for Bioalbumen is coming faster than we can produce it. We have allocated our entire inventory from batch runs and are securing additional manufacturing capacity through capital-light partnerships, with the goal of reaching positive gross margins within 18 months. .
